Burkina Faso Ends Long-Standing Double Taxation Agreement with France

On Monday, August 7th, Burkina Faso officially terminated the double taxation agreement with France, which had been in effect since 1967. According to official sources, this decision was prompted by France’s refusal to consider Burkina Faso’s requests for a revision of the agreement in 2020 and 2021. Earlier, France had announced the suspension of developmental and budgetary assistance to Burkina Faso. The termination is set to take effect in three months’ time.
