Switzerland is preparing for a referendum on the introduction of a new tax

Activists from the “Socialist Youth of Switzerland” movement, in collaboration with environmental activists, have collected over a hundred thousand signatures in support of their initiative to introduce a 50% inheritance tax on assets exceeding 50 million francs. Currently, inheritance is not taxed.

The initiators of the proposed tax argue that this will allow approximately 6 billion francs to be collected annually, which could be directed towards climate protection and the green transformation of the economy.

The collected signatures have been verified, and Swiss voters will soon have the opportunity to express their opinion on the proposed tax.
